A talent search competition has matched two hearts - that of Melur, a Malay-mixed girl and an Indian male student, Mahesh. Melur, with her melodious voice, singing whilst playing the piano is one of the seven finalists of the Talentime competition of her school organised by Cikgu Adibah. Likewise Hafiz, enthralling with his vocalist talent while playing the guitar, divides his time between school and mother, who is hospitalised for brain tumor.
Tok Wan Rimau, the custodian of the spiritual tiger, is searching for a female heir to inherit her powers. Tina (Maya Karin) and Ari (Rusdi Ramli) are the relatives of Tok Wan. They are also best friends. Tok Wan`s spiritual tiger protects her family and their village from harm. Tina, who is in love with Ari, nurtures her secret dream of marrying him even though the villagers often ridicule the effeminate Ari as a sissy. Azean Irdawaty binti Yuseoef (26/2/2010-17/12/2013) is a Malaysian singer and actress who built her recognition as a pop singer in the early 1970's and rose to her primadona fame in silver screen from late 70's to early 80's. She was born in Alor Setar,Kedah,Malaysia and would loved to be called with her nicknamed "Kak Yan". Her career as an actress begins in her first feature Di-Belakang Tabir directed by Jins Shamsuddin. In the big screen, she had won two time awards for Best Female Actress in the 1st and 3rd Festival Filem Malaysia(FFM) through her acting as Faridah in Esok Masih Ada(1980) and Ruby/Zakiah in Langit Petang(1982). As a singer, she created a song called "Bawalah Daku Bersamamu" which later attracted her listeners in the 80's. Through her long spanning career , she has done credit works in Mama oh Mama(1981),Perempuan(1988),Bintang Malam(1981)Sutera Putih(1996),Baginda(1997),Layar Lara(1997)and Waris Jari Hantu(2007) as well as other couple of local television dramas. Her best performance on screen would be her character Auntie Zai in Layar Lara, a third feature directed by Shuhaimi Baba. She also brought home another award Best Supporting Actress in FMM 2008 through her character Tok Wan in Waris Jari Hantu. Her final acting would also be the final feature for Yasmin Ahmad's Talentime before her passing in 2009. She would continue her work in television movies afterwards. She died in 17 December 2013 at University of Malaya Medical Centre(PPUM) due to tumor and lymphedema disease. She was buried at Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
