Fazia is a middle-aged cleaning woman. She appears tired and burdened by personal troubles. For the past few months, she has been starting her days working for the Martin-Pelissard family, a petty bourgeois household reluctant to officially declare her employment. One morning, an unexpected incident heightens the social pressure she endures daily, setting off a race against time to try and keep her job.
Fired for insubordination, PJ Antoine Verlay, good cop but a blood strand and having difficulty working as a team, is attached to the OCBC (Central Office for the fight against Traffic in Cultural Goods) thanks to the intervention of the commander Pardo, his friend who becomes, therefore, his new superior. A clever investigator, but a stranger to everything related to culture, Antoine will have to work with Florence Chassagne, renowned art historian, who lives, speaks and breathes culture, to the point that - fruit of her great imagination - it happens to her in the midst of daydreams, to see and talk to the great artists who have disappeared as if they were familiar to her.
A detective series centered around a police station in a working-class suburb of a provincial French city (the St. Herblain area of Nantes, to be exact), where detached houses with kitchen gardens rub shoulders with tower blocks. There's no mafia or organized crime, just petty lawbreaking, but it keeps our cops busy. Fights that get out of hand, conjugal disputes, quarrels between neighbors, family tiffs, pick-pocketing, pilfering from building sites, minor trafficking and illegal laborers. And plenty of bodily harm, from the trivial to the extremely grievous and, at times, even fatal. Against this backdrop of everyday lawlessness, the series paints a picture of people's lives when they slip out of control, veering into the comic, the tragic or the absurd.
