Biography

Carolyn Dunn is a Canadian actress who is best known for her role as Sylvie Gerard in the television series Tropical Heat. She was born in Whitney Pier, Nova Scotia, Canada, on March 18, 1961. She began her acting career in the late 1970s, appearing in several television movies and miniseries. In 1985, she starred in the Canadian comedy series Head Office. Dunn's breakthrough role came in 1989, when she was cast as Sylvie Gerard in Tropical Heat. The series, which was also known as Sweating Bullets in the United States, ran for four seasons and made Dunn a household name in Canada. In addition to Tropical Heat, Dunn has appeared in several other television series, including The Outer Limits, Street Legal, and The X-Files. She has also starred in several films, including Breaking All the Rules, Charlie Grace, and The Death of Alice Blue. In recent years, Dunn has focused on her career as a poet. She has published two collections of poetry, Outfoxing Coyote (2001) and Echolocation: Poems and Stories (2007). She is also a certified holistic health practitioner and owns an alternative medicine clinic in her hometown of Whitney Pier.
