Carter Dodd is an American actor and filmmaker born in Huntsville, Alabama. He is recognized primarily for his breakthrough performance as Sam in Sam's Town (2024), in which he powerfully portrayed a disturbed young man grappling with severe mental illness. Dodd's journey into acting began unexpectedly during high school when he mistakenly enrolled in a film and media class. However, this mistake ignited a passion within Carter, combined with his childhood love for imagination, that led him to perform in many stage plays early in his career. After pursuing formal training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles in 2013, he later went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the Colorado Film School in 2022. Outside of his film endeavors, Dodd is also a talented writer and director, having penned and directed his acclaimed short film Sam's Town (2024). When he's not working, Carter enjoys collecting physical media, playing video games, and the rewarding process of restoring various items.
