Alisa Lapikova is seventeen years old. She has a very prosperous life: a rich father, a good house, a lot of pocket money. This is where all the good things in Alisa's life end. She has a disgusting relationship with her stepmother Elena and her daughter from her first marriage, Lida. And everyone blames Alisa for this. Even my own father. Elena first accuses Alisa of theft - she allegedly stole an expensive necklace, and then claims that Alisa wants to poison her, and presents evidence that her father believes. Lapikov, in love with Elena, announces to Alisa that he no longer wants to even hear about her. Now Alisa will live with her mother. Alisa had been told her entire life that her mother was dead, but she recently learned that her mother officially abandoned her when Alisa was two years old.
After the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, the Yugoslav army pulls out of Kosovo region, leaving Serbian people at the mercy of the Albanian UCK. A small band of soldiers must take over the Slatina airport, and hold it until the Russian peacekeepers arrive.
An emergency physician is accused of negligence, imprisoned, and banned from practising medicine. Released on parole, he gets a job as an ambulance driver. Being part of the ER crew, he can’t hide his medical expertise and keeps saving lives, even if ‘unofficially’. He only wants one thing — to legally practice medicine again. The life of the ER station consists of dramatic and often unconventional medical cases and tumultuous relationships inside the team. The characters’ life stories are troubled, but love heals all their wounds. Meetings and goodbyes, parents and children, personal dramas: it’s all connected in the show while the characters look for and find ways out of the most challenging professional and romantic situations.
