He then moved away from his home town, Florianópolis, to live in São Paulo, where he worked with theater groups like Grupo Tapa and Centro de Pesquisa Teatral - CPT. His breakout role came in the critically acclaimed 2012 Portuguese film "Tabu," which garnered widespread acclaim, including the Critics Best Picture award at the Berlin Film Festival.
