Biography
Jody Scheckter, born on January 29, 1950, in East London, South Africa, is a former Formula 1 driver renowned for his 1979 World Championship win with Ferrari. He began his racing career in South Africa before moving to Europe in 1970 to compete in various junior categories. Scheckter made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren in 1972 and later raced for teams like Tyrrell and Wolf. Known for his aggressive driving style, he secured 10 Grand Prix victories during his career. After retiring from racing in 1980, Scheckter pursued business ventures, including founding a firearms training company and later establishing Laverstoke Park Farm, an organic farming enterprise in England.
