Based on the novel of the same name by Jirō Asada. Three adult children visit their mother living in the countryside, each at separate times, but things aren't really what they seem to be.
For office worker Toru Matsunaga (played by Nakai Kiichi), this is his return to his hometown after 40 years of absence. When he returned to his hometown with vague memories, his mother (Nobuko Miyamoto) greeted him with a smile. Seeing his mother happily taking care of him, the home he misses, and the cooking he misses, Tohru feels at ease. But I don’t know why, but I can’t remember my mother’s “name”… On the other hand, Natsuki Koga (played by Nanako Matsushima) also returned to her long-lost hometown. The place where Xia Sheng goes is also a home where "the same mother" is waiting. Seiichi Murota (played by Kuranosuke Sasaki), whose wife separated from him, also went to his "hometown" where "the same mother" is waiting in order to find a place to stay...
A treasure appears in front of antique dealer Norio Koike (Kiichi Nakai) and potter Sasuke (Kuranosuke Sasaki). The treasure is Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s chawan (procelain tea bowl) called Houou, that has been missing.
Nasuda Ayumi is a young travel nurse who gives a bad first impression. In fact, he had been an excellent nurse practitioner in the US. He has the qualifications to carry out certain medical procedures and assist doctors in surgeries. However, some circumstances trigger his return to Japan where nurse practitioners are relatively unknown and nurses are still expected to do what doctors order. Ayumi ends up working at Amano General Medical Centre where he encounters a mysterious, legendary nurse Kuki Shizuka who will become his partner. Shizuka cleans “quietly” just like his name suggests and gets mistaken for a cleaner by the hospital staff including Ayumi. But he is actually a super nurse with boggling skills.
In the present day, the local government of Katori City is in the process of sponsoring a taiga drama about its famous historical figure Tadataka Ino, who is known for being the first person to make a map of Japan in 1821. During the process of of making the drama series, a surprising fact is discovered about the first map. That fact is that Tadataka Ino was not the person who made the first Japanese map.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kiichi Nakai (born 18 September 1961) is a Japanese actor. His father, Keiji Sada, also a movie actor, died when Nakai was only two years old. Nakai started his acting career while he was still in university and was awarded the Rookie of the Year of Japan Academy Awards in 1981. He won the Japan Academy Best Supporting Actor award in 1994 (for 47 Ronin) and Best Actor award in 2003 (for Mibu gishi den (When the Last Sword is Drawn). He also won the award for best supporting actor at the 19th Hochi Film Award for 47 Ronin. In 2003 he played a Japanese delegate to a Chinese emperor of the Tang dynasty in Warriors of Heaven and Earth. Though a few of his lines are in Japanese, most are in Mandarin.
