Mahda Purmehdi (b. 1994) is an experimental filmmaker from Tehran, Iran. His tactile and handmade films often contain essayistic and diaristic qualities. His work grapples with ontology of photographic image, film’s corporeality, dreams, memory and history, ghosts, and the act of looking and recording, especially looking through film and its history.
