Miao Yue (่ๆ) is a Chinese director and writer. In 1978, Miao studied in Guiyang Normal University (now Guizhou Normal University), majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. She started writing novels while studying at university. In the 1980s, she published Call of the Heart (ๅฟ็ๅฌๅค), Between Men (็ทไบบไน้ด) and ABC in Summer (ๅคๅคฉ้็ABC) in magazines such as Huaxi (่ฑๆบช), People's Literature (ไบบๆฐๆๅญฆ) and Modern Writers (็ฐไปฃไฝๅฎถ). In 1988, Miao served as the screenwriter of the feature film Filmmaker (็ตๅฝฑไบบ). In 1990, she served as the assistant director of the drama film Journey to the South. In 1991, she began a one-year study in the directing training class of the Directing Department of Beijing Film Academy. The same year, she served as the screenwriter of the feature film Heart Fragrance (ๅฟ้ฆ).
