FUNG fights his way to the hall of SHING’s residence. SHING begs him to spare his life but FUNG insists that he will not go against the emperor’s will. Just then, the emperor arrives with his guards and reveals the discords sown between the Eastern Depot and the Brocade Guards is just part of his game. WAI removes the tattoo on LUI. LUI pleads for her forgiveness but she remains aloof. WAI suffers a relapse of her poisoning. LEUNG administers acupuncture to relieve her pain and encourages her to confide in LUI.
