Women of Hip-Hop Soul S00E78
Jools introduces a 60-minute feast of delights from the archive, featuring some of the greatest women of hip-hop soul who have graced the Later... studio, from global stars like Erykah Badu making her debut in 1997 to Kelis, India Arie and Angie Stone in the early 2000s, as well as British stars of the genre. They include Mercury Prize winner Ms Dynamite in 2002, Stefflon Don and Jorja Smith, who both made their debuts in 2017, and Little Simz, who has appeared three times on Later… over the years. And let’s not forget the queen of hip-hop soul, Mary J Blige, with her anthem No More Drama, which she performed on the show in 2002.
