Musa ibn Nusayr successfully captures the city of Tangier, accompanied by his battle leader, Tariq ibn Ziyad. Recognizing Tariq's leadership qualities, Musa appoints him as the governor of Tangier. Tariq then begins preparations to conquer Ceuta and other surrounding cities.
