On the day Li Jing was appointed, his wife, who was three years and six months pregnant, also gave birth to a round flesh ball. In panic, Li Jing split open the meat ball with his sword, but out of it jumped out a lively and cute little boy who could talk as soon as he landed on the ground. Taiyi Zhenren of Jinguang Cave in Qianyuan Mountain came to visit and accepted the child as his disciple, naming him "Nezha".
