1. Is there a trial? A provider confident in its capacity will let you test. No trial at all is the single strongest warning sign.
2. Does the trial work at peak time? Test between 7pm and 11pm on a weekday. Midday performance tells you almost nothing.
3. Which payment methods are accepted? Credit cards and established payment platforms give you a chargeback route. Requests for bank transfer, gift cards, or cryptocurrency exist to remove that route.
4. Is the price plausible? Expect roughly £10 to £15 monthly, or £40 to £60 annually. Far below that means the content is not licensed and the operation is unlikely to last.
5. Is "lifetime access" offered? Walk away. Streaming has ongoing costs that a single payment cannot fund.

What the Service Actually Includes

6. How many simultaneous connections? One connection means a second device disconnects the first. Check before assuming the household is covered.
7. Are the channels you want actually there? Channel counts are marketing. Verify the specific ones you care about during the trial.

10. Does support reply? Send a real question during the trial and time the response. This is the best predictor of what happens when something breaks.
11. Are terms published? Refund policy, connection limits, and what happens if a channel disappears should be written down somewhere.

Scoring It

A rough guide once you have worked through the list:

• 10 or more clear passes — worth a monthly subscription.
• 7 to 9 — usable, but stay monthly rather than committing to a year.
• Below 7 — keep looking. There is no shortage of providers.
• Any fail on payment method or "lifetime" pricing — stop regardless of the rest of the score. Those two override everything.
