An opera singer is sick. LEUNG TSAN, a cook in the opera troupe, is asked to play the role of LUI PO as a replacement. Manchurian LUNG FOR PUI HAK, who is in the wing-room watching the play, finds TSAN’S Kung Fu very impressive. Later, he challenges TSAN in the marketplace to a fight. WONG WAH PO, TSAN’s Kung Fu master, comes to his rescue. PO uses a trick to make TSAN confess his love for CHEUNG KIN HEI, on whom TSAN has a crush. He even selects a day for their wedding without their consent. HAK enters the troupe by force and demands to fight with PO. To make HAK leave as soon as possible, PO lets HAK defeat him intentionally. PO is seriously injured. HAK says that there is nothing really special about Wing Chun Kung Fu. This irks TSAN to the core and he goes to HAK for a fight. He is defeated, nevertheless. He has left the engagement token that HEI has given him there. He breaks in HAK’s house to take it back……
