Leading CHEUNG PO-TSAI and his men to make an audience with Emperor JIAQING, LAI GONG GONG hands the map of the South China Sea to CHEUNG PO-TSAI, instructing him to submit it to the Emperor. While CHEUNG PO-TSAI is presenting the scroll of the map to the Emperor, a dagger emerges at the end of the scroll, and right away, he becomes the prime suspect in an assassination attempt on the Emperor. Amid the chaos, CHEUNG PO-TSAI and the others are arrested and thrown in jail, so CHEUNG PO-TSAI misconceives that he was framed by MAN-HO. MAN-HO begs the Emperor's pardon for CHEUNG PO-TSAI, so the Emperor gives him three days to probe into the matter even though the Emperor starts getting suspicious.
